Game-ing Time!

For the last several years, one of the highlights of the annual TJA benefit has been the casino-style gaming. The Black Jack and Roulette tables are always popular and since everything is to raise money for TJA scholarships, ultimately everyone goes home feeling like a winner.

As you practice your poker face in preparation for tonight's Casino de Mayo, here's some important casino gaming etiquette.

  • Tip your dealer, especially if you win big, or he/she spends extra time explaining things.
  • If you're playing a table game, stack your chips with the highest denomination on the bottom and lowest on top. This helps prevent confusion and cheating.
  • To avoid displacing other bets, don't toss you're chips on the board, place them.
  • In roulette, before you place a bet, make sure that the dealer has lifted the marker. That's the signal that all previous bets have been paid out.
  • If you're just watching, stand a reasonable distance away from the table and stay off your cell phone to prevent causing a distraction to other players

Above all ... have fun!
