Some History of TJA

Hello!
Because this year Trojan Junior Auxiliary is celebrating our 75th Anniversary, we'd like to take some time to show you the past of our group.  Mary Welsh was a member of TJA in the 1950's and she took the time to send over some newspaper clippings featuring members of that time.

As President this year, I think it's important to keep the past in mind as we're celebrating this terrific milestone.  Especially when the past involves awesome dresses and hairstyles!

What a treasure she sent us!  Mary, we cannot thank you enough!

The bottom reads:  LOOKING AS YOUNG and pretty as springtime, Mmes. Dixon Young, Lou Welsh and Jack A. Colton, from left, visited Miracle Mile for preview of fashions to be presented by Miracle Mile Association at the Trojan Junior Auxiliary's "Inside U.S.A." fashion luncheon March 7 in Statler Hilton.  Mrs. Colton is chairman of [unintelligible] that will raise funds for full-tuition one-year scholarship for SC senior women.

Those dresses are to die for!  Hats as well!

I love Mrs. Ratigan's hair too, in the bottom picture.  Very Jackie O.

I hope these pictures inspire and excite you as much as they did to me!

xo,
Janine
